Brown’s Triumph - a £50 a Year Fuel Levy

Gordon Brown is about to out his latest triumph - a £900m spending by the top 6 energy companies to ensure all homes in Britain are better insultated.

But this will come at a cost of £ to every home in the country via their fuel bills.

The energy companies already fund up to £200m per year towards cavity wall insulation and loft insulation, at a cost of £35 per household.

This follows the scraping of the windfall tax on these companies, which was meant to reduce bills for the lowest earners in the country.
